CONSULTANCY

Having spent the best part of my journalistic career communicating with men – whether as Deputy Editor of Men’s Health or as a grooming expert with over 20 years experience – I have a wealth of knowledge and expertise that’s valuable to brands and PRs.

Over the years I’ve worked for an array of companies in a consultancy capacity, advising on new product development, trend prediction, marketing strategy and how to communicate with a male audience. Clients have included Estee Lauder, P&G, Oliver Sweeney, Unilever, Philips, Bic, Remington, Clarins, King of Shaves, Big Green Tree Trading, Elizabeth Arden, Colgate, London Smiling, Redken, Hawkins & Brimble, CeraVe, Puig and plenty of others who I’m not allowed to mention!

PS_PORTRAIT_FOR_MEN_PACKSHOTIn 2011 I worked with Paul Smith in a consultancy capacity on the development of Portrait For Men and Women, providing input on the choice of juice, story, bottle, packaging, marketing and press materials. I’ve also created press releases for Paul Smith Rose, Sunshine, Extreme Sport and Essential fragrances.

In addition to that, I’ve collaborated with the British Barbers’ Association on a number of projects, worked closely with the founder of British Skincare company Stoer, on shaping the brand’s messaging (from packaging copy and web content to its mission statement) and consulted for shaving company Harry’s between 2017 – when they launched in the UK – to 2020.

Having been a journalist for over 30 years in total, I’ve also amassed a huge amount of knowledge about what makes the press tick too – invaluable information for PR agencies wanting an insight into what does – and doesn’t – make a good pitch, press kit or mailer.
