La Mer launch new Moisturizing Matte Lotion

I’ve always been a big fan of La Mer (née Créme De La Mer) but like a lot of men I’ve always been slightly weary of its weightiness so, for the most part, have used it as a night cream. Also like a lot of men, the idea of using any kind of moisturiser that adds shine to my skin is anathema. The launch of The Moisturizing Matte Lotion, then, is a godsend to male Le Mer fans like me because it’s both light as a feather and as matte as anything.

It achieves this with the help of special ‘Matte Lotion Capsules’ which help deliver moisture to the skin but which are also coated in a layer of naturally mattifying  clay, sea minerals and kelp powder. This ensures skin is hydrated but remains shine free – and don’t worry, there’s no powdery residue either. As an added bonus, the matte finish the lotion leaves also scatters light away from the skin’s surface, improving the overall look of skin and evening out skin tone in the process.

A must have for any man who’s mad for La Mer.

La Mer’s The Moisturizing Matte Lotion is available now priced £180

The Renewal Oil from Crème De La Mer: good for beards too.

CDLMOil_LPNext month sees the launch of The Renewal Oil by Crème de la Mer – a luxury facial oil containing the company’s famous Miracle Broth  – a combination of nutrients obtained from sea kelp along with other skin-beneficial ingredients. Designed to plump up skin and improve its natural protective barrier it’s activated by shaking and is being touted as a multi-functional must-have. It certainly does have many uses – from being an additional insurance policy for skin, slotted into your regime before moisturising, to  being a conditioner for hair and an in-flight essential to guard against dry skin.

Quickly absorbed and only slightly fragranced it also makes an excellent beard oil – an expensive one, to be sure, but an effective one nontheless. For those of you worried about it being greasy it’s anything but – in fact, if it has a fault it’s that it’s one of the driest facial oils I’ve come across. Ironically, this is what makes it great for facial hair but it might not please those with very dry skin who like to feel the results. The shake-to-active bit is fun though.

The Renewal Oil from Crème de La Mer is available from cremdelamer.co.uk from October priced £155.

Creme de La Mer launch Intensive Revitalizing Mask

creme

Like your skincare a little bit on the luxurious side? Then this brand new Intensive Revitalizing Mask from Creme de La Mer is one product you’ll definitely want on your wish list. Out in September it promises to undo some of the damage done to the skin by pollution and environmental aggressors by infusing it with antioxidants, restoring critical moisture  and helping to rebuild its protective barrier.

Unlike many of the Creme de La Mer products you might be familiar with it has a different fragrance, thanks to ingredients like mint and grapefruit. For someone like me who loves the signature smell of Creme De La Mer this is a bit of bummer but on the plus side it’s quickly absorbed and leaves a perfectly matt finish. If you’re  feeling flash you can apply liberally, massage in and rub off any excess with a tissue after eight minutes or, if you’re watching the pennies, apply a small amount and simply leave on. Either way, it’s the perfect treat for your skin.

Give yourself the Crème de la Mer treatment

creme de la-mer-treatment-lotion_3If you’re a fan of luxury skincare brand Creme de la Mer (or, for that matter, just a fan of great-looking skin) then you might want to check out their latest launch – The Treatment Lotion. Especially good for dry skin, it’s a light, quickly-absorbed and non-greasy lotion that you apply after cleaning and before moisturising. Designed to give skin both an energy and a moisture boost it may seem like just one more unnecessary step in your existing grooming regime but it’s actually one well worth doing. And with Autumn (and those moisture-robbing winds) upon us its launch couldn’t be better timed.

Creme de la Mer The Treatment Lotion is available from October. For more info go to cremedelamer.co.uk

Crème de la Mer launches crème de la crème for men

How’s that for a blogpost title mouthful? But, hey, it’s the truth because after years of men swiping their wives’ and girlfriends’ luxury skin products, Crème de la Mer have finally put together a dinky little skincare set for men, housed in a cool carry case and featuring the best of their product range.

The Men’s Skin Essentials kit contains five signature products – The Moisturising Gel Cream, The Eye Balm Intense, The Lip Balm, The Cleansing Gel and The Tonic, providing you with pretty much everything you need for a good skincare regime.

Crème de la Mer itself is legendary, of course. Expensive, yes, but for those who swear by it, the best skincare range out there (I had once had a friend with bad acne scars who used nothing else and who swore it had greatly improved his skin). For others it’s just a feel-good indulgence and if it makes you feel good that’s money well spent.

I myself have always been a fan of the Lip Balm, while the Moisturizing Gel Cream, which is much lighter than the original Moisturizing Cream and is included in this kit, is a great option for men because it’s quickly absorbed and doesn’t leave a shine. Certainly, if you’re new to Crème de la Mer this kit is a great way to discover for yourself what all the hype is about and if you’re already a fan it’s definitely one for your Christmas wish list.

The Crème de la Mer Men’s Skin Essential kit costs £175 and will be available from November. For stockists call 0870 034 2566 or go to www.cremedelamer.co.uk
