It might not seem like summer to you but in the fragrance world things are already hotting up so expect a plethora of summer fragrance releases in the next few months. Certainly one of the nicest I’ve come across so far is this sparkling number from Yves Saint Laurent.
Fresh, without being predictably summery, it contains the citric notes of traditional colognes (in this case madarin, lemon and bergamot) but mixes them up with geranium (one of my favourite notes), spicy black pepper and warm cedarwood to give the fragrance a deeper, more sultry character that won’t just see you through the day but well into those hot summer nights too.
The bottle’s fun too – a frosted version of the La Nuit de L’Homme flacon. Like the original one it’s chunky, clunky and almost heavy enough to count as a murder weapon. Colonel Mustard, on the Lilo, with the YSL Frozen Cologne anyone?
Available from 18th April priced £38 for 60ml eau de cologne.
